Petal Cake
  • Comments
In the design process for the Rustic Experience, more than one cake was a must. This Petal Cake complements the main Rustic Cake, as well as the other cake in the Rustic Experience, the Ribbon Cake. With our Petal Cake Tutorial you'll be able to complete the Petal Cake look in minutes. Our Petal Cake is a three layer chocolate cake with mascarpone filling and iced in vanilla buttercream. A perfect flavor combination, especially for those chocolate lovers you invited to your party.

Tips
For The Petal Cake
Learn how to create your own petal cake design with Sweet Society's Petal Cake Tutorial
Crumb coat the cake with your preferred frosting and place it on the cake stand of your choice. From there, pipe the design according to the tutorial. This ensures that when you pipe the design, you cover the cake board without having to move your cake. You can also pipe the design and chill your cake until the frosting has hardened, and then move it onto the cake stand
Feel free to pipe the petal design on only the sides of the cake if you choose. And if you're leaving the top of the cake plain, placing a gum paste or edible flower on top would be a lovely addition

Presentation
Ideas For The Petal Cake
We placed our cake onto a scalloped piece of cardstock paper that we printed. Download the scallop template here
We used cardstock by Paper Source for the scallop template. Paper Source offers a wide range of color options, so feel free to choose any color that works for you
A simple printable dessert label can go a long way to completing the presentation. We offer free printable dessert labels, along with the rest of the Rustic Experience Printables, that you can download here. We recommend using cover weight paper which you can find at Paper-Source. We used Luxe Blush Cover Paper from Paper Source for these printables. We also used a Doily Lace Edge Puncher from Paper Source to add embellishments to our dessert labels
