When I first visited
ThePioneerWoman.com, I was intrigued at how Ree Drummond, AKA, The Pioneer Woman, shared stories about her life, recipes in her kitchen, adventures about homeschooling, and so much more. I enjoyed peeking through the little window that was her blog, learning about a "country" lifestyle that was so different than my own in downtown Chicago. Most importantly, I learned through the culinary adventures that she shared through her words, and day-by-day become more confident about my skills in the kitchen. I visited her site daily, maybe even a few times a day, scouring for recipes, and reading her funny and witty posts about farm life and her family.
I have made many recipes from her first cookbook,
The Pioneer Woman Cooks, (the Comfort Meatballs are a must) and have became a better cook for it. I've become more interested in ingredients and experimenting, and eventually turned my love for cooking into a passion for baking.
The Pioneer Woman has gained much success in the past years with
more cookbooks,
children books,
a love story, and now, a
Food Network show. She is definitely a woman that has Pioneered something in her own right. I am truly proud of her as an inspirational chef, woman, and business person.
She gave me confidence to pursue my passion for baking, start my own business, and to give it my all. She gave me the determination to do something that I love and do it in my own way, and as a result Sweet Society was born.
So as we create this new Sweet Society Favorites series on our site, and as our goal is to help and inspire people to create amazing desserts and
Dessert Experiences, I had to include Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman, as the first Favorite Blogger to honor and thank. She inspired me, and as result, inspired all of us here at Sweet Society, and we're confident that you'll find a little inspiration of your own from her blog at
ThePioneerWoman.com.
