Balloon Cupcakes
  • Comments
Cupcakes are a dessert that are here to stay, so you can never go wrong with serving these pint-size desserts at your next event or party. We chose chocolate and vanilla for the Sprinkles Experience, but "tasty" is the most important flavor, so choose whatever flavors suit you and your guests. Whether you buy or make these, since these books are often judged by their covers, make sure you dress them up so they're beautiful as well as tasty. For the Sprinkles Experience, balloons and sprinkles are, naturally, the theme of the day, so we created balloon cupcake toppers that make these cupcakes look like they're about to fly off the table (which they normally do right into someone's mouth). These toppers also brings the all important pops of color to this, and any dessert table. And don't forget the Toot Sweet cupcake wrappers by Meri Meri, to complete the look of these tasty cakes, ensuring they look as good as they taste.

Tips
For The Balloon Cupcakes
Since we dressed our cupcakes in Meri Meri Cupcake Wrappers we didn't need anything fancy when preparing them, so we used basic white cupcake liners during baking
If you're not too sure about your frosting techniques, check out Sweetopia's video on decorating your cupcake with a classic swirl
If you're going to make the balloon fondant toppers, use different colored fondant balls on thin floral wire or toothpicks to add extra color. Never place wire directly into any cake. Always place wire into a cocktail or drinking straw and let your guests know to expect it when serving
Presentation
Ideas For The Balloon Cupcakes
We presented our cupcakes on a 10-inch white square plate from Crate & Barrel. Also check out another one of our favorites that we've used from Sur La Table - you can choose from many different sizes. We especially love to use these plates in our Experiences as the clean and simple lines tend to complement any dessert table
A simple printable dessert label and cupcake toppers can go a long way to completing the presentation. We offer free printable dessert labels and cupcake toppers, along with the rest of the Sprinkles Experience Printables, that you can download here. We recommend using cover weight paper which you can find at Paper-Source. We usually use pure white, but feel free to choose a color that works for you
Although we used the Toot Sweet Meri Meri Cupcake Wrappers there is a wide variety of colorful wrappers to choose from. Visit Sur La Table to see some other options
