Balloon Cookies
  • Comments
The best thing about sugar cookies is that they can be baked in different shapes and sizes, and decorated in so many different colors. These colorful balloon cookies on a stick add a personal touch to this and any festive dessert table. Some guests may think that the balloon is a prop, only to be pleasantly surprised (and impressed) to find out that they're actually a delicious dessert.

There are many royal icing recipes out there. Some use fresh egg whites, others pasteurized egg whites, but we like to use recipes that utilize meringue powder as the main ingredient. Meringue powder is a dried egg white powder that we use in place of fresh eggs, mainly because it's easy, tastes great, and we know is bacteria free
Royal icing also acts as a great glue for cookies, cupcakes, and even cakes. When your cookies are cooled and decorated, use a dot of royal icing to glue your curling ribbon to the back of the cookie. That way guests can easily pull off the ribbon while they are enjoying that delicious cookie
Presentation
Ideas For The Balloon Cookies
We presented our balloon cookies on a styrofoam block that we wrapped in pink wrapping paper. The great thing about using a styrofoam block is that you can cut it down to fit your space, and you can wrap it in any color to fit your theme
A simple printable dessert label can go a long way to completing the presentation. We offer free printable dessert labels, along with the rest of the Sprinkles Experience Printables, that you can download here. We recommend using cover weight paper which you can find at Paper-Source. We usually use pure white, but feel free to choose a color that works for you
