Jumbo Flowers
  • Comments
Jumbo is probably the best word to describe these flowers. Made from wire, tape, and tissue paper, this is one DIY project that is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Although not the easiest of DIY efforts that we have done to date, we think the investment is worth the reward once you're done with your Jumbo Flowers. And what better centerpiece and background for our Bee Experience, than these Jumbo Flowers. Bees + Flowers = Sweetness. And, you might find a good reason to use these again, since what better prop than life size flowers to brighten the place up a bit.

Tips
For The Jumbo Flowers
When we saw these giant flowers, we knew they would add that special touch to our Bee Experience. They are easier than they look to make, and just a really impressive centerpiece or background. To learn how to make your own, check out Designsponge.com
We preferred not to use cement, so instead we used an empty water bottle as our base. We suggest filling it with rocks, dirt, sand... something to weigh it down - and this will probably only work if your flower is 3 or 4 feet tops. We then wrapped our bottle in duct tape to protect it from possible pokes from the chicken wire. From there we followed the tutorial and loved every minute of it
If/when you attempt to make this awesome flower, please buy some of those handy dandy works gloves and actually wear them. Your hands and arms will thank you (and us)

If you're looking to expand the Experience to the rest of the party, and not just the table, you can make more flowers and at different heights. Place them all over - small ones on the present table, large ones by the door, etc. You can really add as many as you would like to your party making your guests feel like they are taking a stroll in a floral garden
