Bee-Day Cake
  • Comments
The Bee-Day Cake is a three tiered cake, covered in yellow fondant, shaped in the form of a beehive, but with none of the normal fear of getting stung that you normally have when close to the Queen Bee's chosen abode. We made our hive out of vanilla bean cake and chocolate swiss meringue buttercream, but make sure you choose flavors and fillings that the Queen Bee or baby bee that you're celebrating prefers.

Tips
For The Bee-Day Cake
You can bake your cakes in 8, 6 and 5-inch round cake pans as we did, or bake them in glass bowls (make sure your glass bowls are oven safe). Baking in glass bowls gives you the rounded look without having to do too much carving to shape your cake
If you want to add some extra accents to your Bee-Day Cake, think about making fondant bees or fondant blossoms. If you are unsure on how to make accent fondant pieces, YouTube is a great resource since many people share their fondant talents and show step-by-step instructions
Presentation
Ideas For The Bee-Day Cake
We used a basic white square cakestand for our Bee-Day Cake. Check out Sur La Table, Pottery Barn, or Sarah's Stands for your stand. All offer an assortment of cake stands for you to choose from
A simple printable dessert label can go a long way to completing the presentation. We offer free printable dessert labels, along with the rest of the Bee Experience Printables, that you can download here. We recommend using cover weight paper which you can find at Paper-Source. We usually use pure white, but feel free to choose a color that works for you
